RuleKit privacy policy

Last updated 1 November 2026.

RuleKit is a Shopify app made by Aksharo (“we”). It lets merchants set rules that hide, rename or reorder payment and delivery methods, and block some checkouts. This policy explains what data the app uses, why, and how long we keep it.

Data we store

Data we read but don't store

When an order is placed, RuleKit reads it once to check which rules applied: the order total, items and quantities, product tags and collections, the shipping country, state and postal code, and the customer's tags and number of orders. We use this only to update the counts above, then discard it. We never read or store customer names, email addresses, phone numbers or street addresses.

At checkout, rules run inside Shopify as Shopify Functions. That data stays within Shopify and is not sent to us.

How we use data

Only to run the app for you: apply your rules, show their results, and manage your plan. We don't sell data, share it for advertising, or use it to profile customers.

Where it's stored

On servers run by Render (application hosting) and MongoDB Atlas (database). Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Billing is handled by Shopify; we never see payment details.

How long we keep it

Your customers' rights

We respond to Shopify's customer data and erasure requests. Because RuleKit stores no personal data about your customers, there is nothing to export or erase for an individual customer. Merchants and customers can contact us with any privacy question.
